Overthinking is exactly how it sounds, THINKING. TOO. MUCH.

Put simply, when you think too much, instead of acting and doing things, you are overthinking.

You know what I’m talking about… those times when you over analyse, commentate, self-interrogate and repeat the same thoughts over and over again about any little or big thing…. INSTEAD of taking action.

I bet YOU $100 you have been there, done that, shared the Instagram story.

And you too are well aware of the side effects and how it…

Zaps your energy.

Disables your ability to make decisions.

Puts you on a continuous loop of unhelpful thinking that begins to be harmful rather than helpful.

I ain't immune to it, I experience it too!

These days I have an overthinking monster! In my head it looks like a big, black shadowy figure, very similar to the beast I’d imagined was hiding under the bed as a kid.

And this brings me to my overthinking BIG TIP….


YES! Visualise it! Your overthinking monster, alien or movie villain.

The brain works in pictures.

When you can see something in your mind's eye you are more likely to recognise it for what it is rather than what you think it is and this allows YOU to challenge it.

And I hear you ask, how do I challenge it?

Well, it doesn’t have to be complicated at all… CALL IT OUT like you would someone trying to steal the parking spot you have been waiting for… at the shops… on Christmas eve!

You want to know what I say?

A choice word is coming…. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

Get the f%ck out of my head - you aren't real or helpful!

Often a simple statement like the above is the circuit breaker you need to bring you back to the present and out of your head.
