GRIEF

Support to help you navigate loss, make sense of your emotions, and find your way forward.

We provide grief counselling in Perth, and also support clients across Australia and internationally through secure online sessions.

Grief and loss take many forms. The death of a loved one is one of the most significant traumas a person can experience — but grief can also come from the end of a relationship or friendship, losing a job, the death of a pet, fertility challenges, menopause, illness, injury, or major life transitions like moving house or moving countries.

Grief is deeply personal. It doesn’t follow a neat timeline, and it doesn’t look the same for everyone. You might feel completely alone, or worry that no one truly understands the depth of what you’re feeling. There is no “right” way to grieve — only your way.

Counselling offers a safe, supportive space to process your grief, make sense of your emotions, and find ways to cope in a life that may feel drastically changed.

If you’re unsure where to begin, we offer a FREE 15‑minute Mental Health Wellness Call — a gentle starting point to talk about what you’re going through and how we can support you.

HOW CAN COUNSELLING HELP?

Grief often shows up in ways you don’t expect. You might notice:

  • Anger

  • Anxiety

  • Changes in appetite

  • Disrupted sleep

  • Guilt

  • Loneliness

  • Mood swings or constant tearfulness

  • Numbness

  • Remorse

  • Sadness

  • Shock

These emotions can make everyday life feel overwhelming or impossible. Grief counselling helps you understand what you’re experiencing, work through painful memories and emotions, and begin to make your grief more manageable.

Counselling can support you to:

  • Work through painful emotions at your own pace

  • Make sense of your grief

  • Learn how to cope in changed circumstances

  • Slowly reconnect with moments of enjoyment

  • Move towards acceptance in a way that feels right for you

Grief doesn’t mean forgetting. It means learning how to carry what you’ve lost while still finding ways to live.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Grief is not something you “fix” - it’s something you learn to navigate. And that takes time, support, and consistency.

Most people find that meaningful progress happens when they work closely with a therapist who can help them:

  • Understand what’s happening beneath the surface

  • Notice patterns that may be keeping them stuck

  • Build gentle, practical ways to move forward

While single sessions are available, our experience shows that clients get the most benefit from 6 to 8 counselling sessions. This gives you space to process your emotions, explore your grief, and begin to integrate small but meaningful changes into your everyday life.

Just like physical health, emotional wellbeing needs ongoing care. One‑off support can help in the moment, but consistent support creates lasting change.

To make regular therapy more accessible, we offer AfterPay for packaged sessions.
